Portfolio of Works

These are my latest paintings, all in oil, and show some of my favorite vacation spots and coastal scenes.

A collection of paintings inspired by travels and captivating photos. Many of these are plein air paintings.

Plein air painting is challenging in many regards. Dealing with unfriendly weather, managing equipment transport and setup, composing the right design quickly, and putting your heart in every painting are all ll part of the adventure!

I love painting marshes and waterfront scenes! I'm attracted to marshes because for the most part because they are eternal, can't be built on, can't be rearranged by humans, and they are wide open and serene views.

I have a long history of doing commissioned dog portraits and creating dog breed decorative flags. I'm happy to quote you a price for a portrait of your favorite pet, be it dog, cat or horse! As you can see I also do human portraits and would love to discuss any request you might have. I can also work from photos to paint a portrait of your home.

Balancing design, light source and colors in a still life is a challenge to make it believable!

There are lots of winged creatures near my home and I enjoy taking pictures of them and rendering them in their habitats.
